Unfolding Chinatown NYC is a limited-edition pop-up book celebrating the history, culture, and Lunar New Year traditions of Manhattan’s Chinatown. Developed in collaboration with the Chinatown Business Improvement District (BID), the project combines storytelling, illustration, and paper engineering to document and share the neighborhood’s vibrant community heritage.

As the Lead Illustrator and Graphic Designer, I was responsible for the book’s visual development, including page illustrations, character design, color direction, and graphic layout. I worked closely with the paper engineer and project team to transform historical narratives and cultural landmarks into an engaging interactive pop-up experience that was widely distributed throughout the Manhattan Chinatown community.
